I’m currently on my holiday break during the Idul Fitri, which is a common tradition in my home country. I have about a full week off, as it also coincides with Hari Nyepi. So yeah, it’s a super long holiday, haha!
And yep, I’m finally able to make time for this blog again, lol.
As usual, I went back to my hometown to celebrate the holiday with my family. I took the train for about six hours and arrived at the station nearest to my house. Sometimes my parents pick me up, or I just take public transport if they’re busy.
This year, I have five days of “waiting” before Idul Fitri. The busiest days are usually the first through the third day of the celebration, so I don’t have much to do during these first five days. Because of this precious free time, I’ve finally been able to contemplate everything I’ve done over the past few months.
Since I moved to a new company, this first year has been incredibly packed. It’s been the busiest year of my career so far (I’m serious, I’m not exaggerating! lol). I haven’t even had any holiday trips or travels yet. The last one was in early 2025, more than a year ago! And oh I was supposed to have a family trip in October, but sadly, I got sick and couldn’t join them :(
Fortunately, my current job requires me to do on-site observations and verifications, which forces me to get out of the office. I’ve had the opportunity to visit more than eight new cities, even though I could only explore them at night and sometimes not at all if I was too tired. So I can’t really count that as a vacation.
So yeah, I need a vacation so bad! I want to travel to new places to experience the scenery, the food, and new things. Perhaps I need to prioritize or schedule it so that time doesn’t just pass me by while I realize all I’ve been doing is working, lol.

ps: I just ate for the fourth time today, haha! We visited our relatives, and their Hari Raya cooking was just amazing!
